Mosaic works with local authorities throughout our region to provide long-term, therapeutic placements for children who need consistent, nurturing care through to adulthood. We partner with a carefully selected network of local authorities, schools, charities and professional organisations across Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, North Kent and Worcestershire to provide children with lasting stability.
Through our SMILE Therapeutic Framework, we deliver:

Sharing Therapeutic Practice Beyond Fostering
Our therapeutic team delivers SMILE Framework training and reflective practice sessions in schools and community settings, helping teachers and pastoral staff:

APPCIOS promotes best practice in psychodynamic and reflective work. Our membership ensures Mosaic’s SMILE Framework remains grounded in the highest clinical standards. Through SMILE, foster parents receive immediate, expert input whenever a challenge arises – usually within hours. And our APPCIOS membership gives us direct access to the latest thinking and approaches to trauma-related behaviour, emotional distress or a new diagnosis.
All of Mosaic Foster Care's training is accredited by APPCIOS and recognised by the British Psychoanalytical Council (BPC). Mosaic is also a certified training provider for APPCIOS – a highly unusual distinction within the fostering community. This certification enables Mosaic to offer:
Charity & Community Partners
Supporting Our Local Communities
Mosaic supports the Palmer & Partners Community Fund, which raises money for local charities across Colchester, Chelmsford, Ipswich, Clacton and the Suffolk Coast. Charities who have benefitted through the fund include initiatives improving education, mental health and child well-being.
We’re proud members of the 500 Club – a business network established by Palmer & Partners committed to making a donation or providing a gift with a minimum value of £500 per month directly to a different local cause nominated by the club donors. Beneficiaries include the Butterfly Appeal at Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals, Essex Search and Rescue and St Helena Hospice in Colchester.
In June 2025, our Director Andre Palmer raised £1,300 for Macmillan Cancer Support on an epic 1,000-mile cycle ride with his long-time friend Gary Newell. The duo – friends since qualifying as social workers in 1997 – took on the challenge to raise vital funds to help fund Macmillan’s essential services, providing comfort and care when families need it most.
