- Steady placements, steady income: 92% of children placed with Mosaic stay in one home all year (compared with 69% nationally).
- Consistent support: You’ll never face challenges alone thanks to our 24/7 in-house therapeutic team and youth support workers.

What You Can Earn as a Foster Carer
A sustainable career begins with fair pay and stability. Mosaic Foster Care’s financial package is designed to recognise your skill, time and commitment and to provide security between placements.
Our foster parents receive:
- £700+ per week after completing Training, Support and Development (TSD) Standards.
- £250 per week retainer for up to four weeks between placements (for placements of six months or more).
- Three weeks of paid supportive foster care each year (our term for respite), with payment for up to seven unused days.
- No deductions for training, supervision or therapeutic support – everything is fully funded.
Foster parents who care for more than one child (where suitable) receive full payment for each child, with some earning more than £2,100 per week.
This transparent, dependable pay structure allows you to plan your household income with confidence while focusing on what matters most – the child in your care.
Training and Qualifications for a Foster Carer Job

Beyond this, Mosaic Foster Care offers an accredited therapeutic learning route through APPCIOS (The Association for Psychodynamic Practice and Counselling in Organisational Settings).
Through our APPCIOS affiliation, foster parents can:
- Access accredited webinars, workshops and reflective groups led by clinicians.
- Build recognised therapeutic qualifications while continuing to foster.
- Undertake a portfolio-based route toward psychotherapist training – with no academic degree required.
