Mosaic Foster Care is proud to announce we are now members of The Consortium of Therapeutic Communities (TCTC).
TCTC is a membership charity for anyone working with or interested in the delivery of relationship-based support and treatment for everyone in society – from children to older people.
The charity supports and helps develop therapeutic practice in different settings, ranging from formal large communities, through to smaller clusters of therapeutic services, including part-time, day communities and therapeutic enabling environments.
By being a member of TCTC, Mosaic Foster Care staff and foster parents now have access to a huge range of advanced therapeutic training, workshops, conferences and research journal publications.
This access helps us improve and enhance our therapeutic offer. Our therapeutic fostering approach helps children who have experienced a traumatic start in life and our TCTC membership means we can support their journey to recovery in line with the very latest best practice.
Greg de Smidt, Registered Fostering Manager at Mosaic Foster Care, said: “The Consortium of Therapeutic Communities is a supportive community of like-minded organisations and it’s greatly to our advantage to be a member.
“We now have access to a forum made up of people devoted to developing, managing and sustaining therapeutic cultures, so it chimes really well with the work we do at Mosaic. And there’s a wealth of original research and experiences now available to us.
“This membership means we can see what’s worked – and hasn’t – elsewhere, share ideas and communicate good practice.
“It’s a win-win for the entire Mosaic Foster Care network. Hopefully we can pass on some of the lessons we’ve learned to a wider community. Best of all, our foster parents and children stand to gain enormously from the wealth of knowledge now at our disposal.”
TCTC has members at home and abroad, and it runs a range of member and public workshops, training events, conferences and reflective spaces to support organisations like Mosaic Foster Care.
