At Mosaic Foster Care, we believe supporting children and young people goes well beyond the homes of our foster families. Strong communities play a vital role in helping young people feel safe, valued and able to grow.

That’s why we were delighted to support the 4YOUth Club in Brightlingsea through our involvement with the Palmer & Partners 500 Club

The 500 Club is a community initiative created to support local charities and grassroots organisations across the region. Each year, the programme brings together businesses who contribute funding that is then distributed to projects making a positive difference in their communities.

Every month, a donation or gift with a minimum value of £500 goes directly to a different local cause nominated by the club donors. Beneficiaries beside the 4YOUth Club include the Butterfly Appeal at Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals, Essex Search and Rescue and St Helena Hospice in Colchester.

How the Palmer & Partners 500 Club Supports Local Youth Projects in Brightlingsea

Mosaic Registered Fostering Manager Greg De Smidt recently visited the youth club alongside Palmer & Partners 500 Club committee member Brady Rackham to see first-hand the impact the project is having on local young people.

The visit offered a chance to meet the volunteers and young people who use the space and to learn more about the activities taking place each week.

Afterwards, Greg said: “What quickly becomes clear when you spend time in a club like this is just how important it is for the local community.

“It provides a safe and welcoming place for young people to spend time after school, build friendships and take part in activities that help them develop confidence and independence.

“Everyone at Mosaic Foster Care is delighted to be able to help support such a fantastic environment for young people.”

Brady Rackham described the club as: “A wonderful place for kids to go after school and be themselves.”

Why Youth Clubs Like 4YOUth Are So Important for Young People in Local Communities

Projects like 4YOUth play a crucial role in supporting young people during their teenage years. Having positive spaces where they can feel accepted and supported can make a significant difference to their wellbeing.

At Mosaic Foster Care, we are proud to support initiatives that help young people thrive. While our primary focus is helping children build stable and secure family relationships through fostering, we also recognise the importance of strong local communities.

Seeing the positive impact of the 4YOUth Club was a powerful reminder of what can happen when communities come together to invest in young people.

We would like to thank everyone involved in running the club for the dedication and care they show to the young people of Brightlingsea.
