How transferring to Mosaic Foster Care from another fostering agency works
At Mosaic, we follow the transfer protocol developed by The Fostering Network to ensure the transition of a foster parent between agencies is as seamless as possible for both the foster parent and for the child in a placement. The Transfer Protocols set out by The Fostering Network guide agencies in their decision making and are used to inform correct management of the transfer process.
Initial discussion
Express your intention to transfer by having an open conversation with your current agency and Mosaic. Our team will guide you through the legal and procedural requirements, ensuring all necessary consent is obtained.
Assessment and paperwork
A Form F assessment and background checks will be conducted to evaluate your experience and eligibility. This involves reviewing your history as a foster carer and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and promptly. We will make use of your current assessment and review information to make this process as easy as possible for you.
Co-ordination and approval
Mosaic will co-ordinate with your current agency and the relevant local authority to facilitate a smooth transition. Once the assessment is complete, your case is presented to Mosaic’s fostering panel for approval. Our Agency Decision Maker (ADM) will then approve your transfer.
Transition
Mosaic works closely with all parties involved to ensure the placement remains stable. We handle the negotiations, policies and paperwork so you can focus on providing care for your foster child.

Changing foster agencies? We’re right by your side
If there is a child in placement with you, they are the first priority and we will ensure all guidelines are followed with effective management, to minimise any disruption caused to the established fostering placement. If there are no foster children currently in a placement with you, the process is more streamlined.
