We set – and live up to – the highest possible standards
Everything we
do is planned,
not rushed
We never take emergency or unplanned referrals. Every child’s placement is thoughtfully matched, with time for introductions and preparation. This reduces disruption and helps both the child and foster family start off on the right foot.
Therapeutic support that’s immediate
and ongoing
Every one of our foster families is assigned a dedicated therapist and social worker, plus access to support groups, reflection sessions and youth workers to help lift the load. We act fast when support is needed – not weeks or months later.
Training to become the best foster parent
you can be
Our training goes far beyond the basics delivered by most agencies. With input from our therapeutic team, you’ll build deep understanding, grow in confidence, and can even pursue advanced learning - including pathways into psychotherapy or specialist care – all free of charge.
Mosaic Foster Care is an Ofsted Outstanding Fostering Agency – where ordinary people are empowered to make an extraordinary difference.
Setting a new standard in foster care – how we support
our foster families
Nothing is ever left to chance at Mosaic – there’s too much at stake for that. Every aspect of every placement is the result of forensic attention to detail. We’re proud of that level of care and we believe the service we offer to our foster families, finely tuned over the years, is second to none. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
Planned placements
that protect
everyone involved
- No emergency or last-minute referrals - every child’s placement is carefully planned
- Thoughtful matching process, including referral and matching meetings, and a series of introductions
- Dedicated respite carers assigned to each family, so time away is consistent and stress-free
- Retainer fee paid for up to four weeks after a placement ends
Support you can
actually rely on
- Dedicated supervising social worker with protected caseloads for quicker, more flexible support
- 24/7 out-of-hours response with a full multi-team approach - not just a duty phone
- Every child placed gets their own youth worker to build trust and continuity from day one (and help share the load with you)
- Children’s clubs and seasonal activities to build friendships and life skills
Therapeutic insight, woven
into everything
- Every foster parent is assigned a dedicated therapist, not just for the child - but for you
- Clinical supervision provided for foster parents, alongside social work supervision
- Therapist-led support groups focused on the emotional realities of fostering
- Direct therapeutic work with the child when needed - no waiting lists
- iPads and digital access to help you stay connected and organised
We believe that when foster parents are properly supported, children stand a much better chance of thriving. That’s why we’ve designed Mosaic Foster Care to give you the right help, right when you need it, without delays, gaps, or guesswork.
Our proven three-step process ensures every foster family gets the right support at the right time:

Helping Answer Your Questions
Here are a few of the questions we get the most. If you don't see what's on your mind, reach out to us anytime by phone, chat, or email.
Why doesn’t Mosaic Foster Care accept emergency or last-minute placements?
At Mosaic, we choose to specialise in long-term foster care. Our focus is on carefully planned placements with families committed to supporting a child through to adulthood, and sometimes beyond, through the Staying Put scheme. This approach reflects our belief that children benefit most from stable, enduring relationships built over time, not temporary arrangements.
